“CeCe”, as she was known to many, was born March 1, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, to Thomas and Sebastiana (Pinzaronne) Grisaffi. She was the fifth of six children and the youngest of three daughters. On October 3, 1964, she married Joseph S. Wasz until her passing. They were blessed with three children: Jeanine (Brian) Scott of McCordsville, IN, Christopher Wasz of Cary, NC, and Kathleen (William) Reardon of Tallahassee, FL. She was the grandmother of six: Lauren, Kelsey, and Carly Scott; Brooke Wasz, and Scott (Kassie) and Tyler Reardon. She is also survived by her sister, Rosalie (Rich) Wagner of Mesa, AZ, and brother, Thomas (Mary) Grissafi of Chicago, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Cecelia was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brothers: Anthony and Joseph, and sister, Josephine Gaudio.
Outside of her love and care of her family, Ceil enjoyed reading a book, finding a great bargain, trips to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, and playing BINGO. She had many adventures with her husband, Joe, and gave great support to him as he worked in multiple positions around the country in Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, California and the Raleigh, North Carolina area since 2000. She worked clerical positions and held retail associate and management positions as well as banking roles. Ceil was a member of her community Catholic Church, a volunteer, and was a “baseball mom” as she attended high school games for son.
Services will be held on Friday, February 18, at 1:00 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Apex, North Carolina, located at 725 Magdala Place, 27502. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 12:00.
