Clara Strother Williams

Clara was born April 22, 1923 in Raleigh, NC to the late Henry and Amanda Strother. She grew up in the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh, where she met her husband. Clara was employed with the NC Department of Revenue retiring with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cary where she was involved in the Wesleyan Women’s Circle and the Philathea Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward L. Williams, Sr. and son, Edward L. Williams, Jr.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Linda Williams Wilson and husband, James R. “Jim” Wilson of Oxford; son, Danny Richard Williams and wife, Lee of Holly Springs; daughter-in-law, Cindy Williams; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Wilson, Jamie Wilson Drescher and Briana Anderson and husband, James; and great grandson, William Dean Anderson.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, February 3, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Burial will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2-4pm Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
