Dean Padgett was a force of nature. He didn't have to throw his weight around to prove how big he was nor threaten that it was his way or the highway. Instead, there was a gentle magnetism about him that drew people close; that made folks secure in the presence of his company.

I saw this every time I observed the orbits of the families around their "Poppy." Whether he knew it or not, he was central to his extended family's dreams, hopes and aspirations. Everything just naturally flowed through him.

But don't tell Dean Padgett he was the center of anything. For him, he was never the star or the brightest light in the system. He was merely a humble country boy enjoying the twinkling lights that just so happened to be revolving around him.

Dean Edward Padgett will be missed but never forgotten and will live in our hearts forever.

To Mimi, Steve and Carol, Kim and family, Heather and family, and Michelle...and to all other family members we haven't met yet: Papi was a wonderful and kind soul. We will always keep his little wooden reindeer and clothes line on the table in our foyer. And the wooden cross he carved for me will always stay on my Bible bag for church. We are praying for you at this very sad time... We will see you on Saturday. Hugs...

To the Padgett Family and to you mostly Momma, Maranda and I are sorry for your loss. The way I see it, The Lord needed a 'Gentle Giant' and who best for the Job: Mr. P! A man I respected & Feared {very respectfully I might add} for all the many years I knew him. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke you listened. And you certainly understood. He's also a Man who left one Beautiful Wife & Children {with the Exception of Steve/ Respectfully} to be Proud of. Including you to Steve! And not to Mention his Beautiful Grandchildren {and No I'm not going to the Fair} and great-grand children!

Dean Padgett was a Man's Man and he carried it around in a quiet and kindly manner!
