Deb’s compassionate and caring nature was an asset to her in her work as an emergency room nurse at Duke Hospital, Wake Medical Center, Rex Hospital, and Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She was a kidney and pancreas transplant survivor and was always trying to be an encouragement to people on their life journeys. She was also a dog lover and will be greatly missed by her two dogs, Cody and Brinden.
The medical difficulties which Deb endured over the years were greatly reduced by the wonderful care that was provided to her by the Doctors, Nurses and Medical Staff of the many facilities in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area. She would have never enjoyed the life that she had without your amazing compassion and love.
Our sincere gratitude is extended to all that have been or intend to be organ donors. This invaluable gift provided to Deb permitted her a much longer and enjoyable life. Thank you all.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Nystrom; children, Christopher Nystrom and his wife, Kathryn, Nicole Alyse Nystrom, and Michael Nystrom and his wife, Virginia, and their daughter, Katelyn Marie Nystrom; mother, Janice Starnowski and her husband, Jerry; second father, Winfred V.
