Dorothy Dixie Gardner

Dorothy “Dixie” Gardner passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 in Apex, NC. She is predeceased in death by her husband of 59 years, Joe Dan Gardner, her three brothers and two sisters and her parents, Earl Mosson Beddingfield and Neva Brantley Beddingfield. Dixie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kenney (Jon) and two grandchildren, Rachel Kenney and Stephen Kenney.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her love and wit will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Spring Arbor Apex memory care unit and Transitions LifeCare Raleigh. Your loving care and support enriched Dixie’s final year.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28 at 2:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral servie will immediately follow at Brown-Wynne at 2:30 pm. Following the service, there will be a private family internment at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
