Dorothy Lewis Poole

Dot was born on August 18, 1945 in Wake County to William Holt Lewis and Dollye Britt Lewis. She was a graduate of Cary High School.

Dot is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth “Ken” Poole of the home; daughter, Lisa Rogers Gilpin (Mike) of Clinton, NC and son, Carl Lynwood (Tripp) Rogers III of Garner; four grandchildren, Corey Gilpin, Halla Gilpin, Taylor Rogers and Chase Rogers; sister-in-law, Jeri Lewis of Raleigh; niece, Jennifer L. White, Kellie Perrine; and nephew, William H. (Billy) Lewis, III.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Dollye Britt Lewis and William Holt Lewis; brother, William Holt Lewis, Jr.; and one infant brother.

Dot loved beach music and spent lots of time at SOS at Myrtle Beach and anywhere she could find a band playing. She also loved people and never met a stranger.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary.
