She was born on October 22, 1935, in Albertson, NC to the late Rodolph D. and Eva S. Harper. Frances was the fifth of twelve brothers and sisters, whom she loved very much. Frances and her family lived on a tobacco farm in Albertson, where she spent the majority of her early years. Frances attended, and graduated from B.F. Grady School near Kornegay, NC, where she played high school basketball, and contributed to the team’s victory at the County Championship in 1954. During her lifetime, Frances held various jobs, in various fields. The position she enjoyed the most, was taking care of children. In March of 1960, Frances met Raymond Peedin and by November, they were married. Frances was a wonderful and loving Mother to her 5 girls. She was an avid NC State fan, and loved college basketball, she also enjoyed reading books, and solving word puzzles. Frances was an excellent cook and baker, her tacos and hot chocolate were some of her children’s favorites.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila R. Peedin; brothers, Walton, RD, and Lynn R. Harper; Sister, Margaret H. Haymore; Sister-in-law, Virginia H. Haymore; and a Brother-in-law Carroll Haymore.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia A. Peedin, Amy E. Peedin, Andrea L. Peedin, all of Willow Spring, and Christina P. Robbins of Cary; granddaughter, Alyssa A. Robbins of Cary; former spouse, Ray (Raymond) E. Peedin of Raleigh; brothers, Leland (Mary Kay), Vernon (Juanita), Richard (Clarnell), Gary (Judy), Michael (Linda) Harper; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Patton, Faye (Jim) Young; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor B. (Walton) and Juanita ( Lynn) Harper.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5060 Six Forks Rd. Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 US-70 Princeton, NC 27569. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
