It's been one sad and lonely year but I have found peace in the fact that he lived an exemplary life which touched both young and old. This has given me strength for my sister and I.

I am saddened to hear of my brother's passing but celebrate his life and the impact he had on those he touched over the years.He and I sat in the lobby in East Fishkill on June 22,1970 and both had the "big fros' and were both nervous about our first day with IBM.He beat me to retirement by 6 months this year.I will certainly miss him,he was always the same for the 40 years we knew each other.I call him my brother because I considered us to be just that.He is up there with the angels running marathons and looking down at us all.Please keep in touch and my family and I will keep you in our prayers.

To the Currie family:
May God comfort you in this trying time as only He can.  Our hearts and prayers will continue to go out for each of you.  Gil was a mentor and friend.  The times together at lunch or at the house talking over a number of topics will always be apart of my being going forward. His incredible power of persuasion was not lost on me with him being a marathon runner.  But the best part of that is him convincing his Boo, Carol, to join him in those long runs!.  That's Love!  And it's that love and class that Gil and his entire family displayed in everything they did and do today.  We thank God and consider it a Blessing to have had the opportunity to meet and fellowship.

Like many others here, I met Gil via our running group.  It was my first marathon and my group had long since left me behind that hot day, and I came up on Gil on the trail.  He was soaked head to toe as was I.  He had one "gu" (fuel for us runner types) left and he made me take it to make sure I was going to get through that hot day.  That was the first of many awesome memories of a great man with a great smile and a great heart.  He will be missed.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Gil's passing.
Gil was always a gentleman, and was intelligent, thoughtful and honest in his approach to all things.  Gil always managed to maintain a sense of calm and never let things become personal - even in the midst of some challenging business situations - but always worked to be a peacemaker and to find solutions.

Gil and I were office mate before I retired from IBM a year and half ago. He love his family very much. He was very excited when he learn he would become a grandfather several years ago. He shared me the ultra sound movie and pictures of his grandson before he was born. He was a proud father and grandfather. We all miss him very much. Life is eternal, and love is immortal. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I had the good fortune to work with Gil for a few years at IBM.  He was a great guy, always on top of his game, very proud of his family.  My condolences to the Currie family.

Over the past few months I have found myself waking up with Gil on my mind. It has now dawned on me I have lost a friend. I have worked with Gil over the past years and from day one it was more than a working relationship. Gil's kind manner and patience brought peace to my life. Soft-spoken and deligent in his efforts, never a harsh word spoken. My life has truly been blessed by knowing this man. But alas we are just flesh and bone but I tuly believe I will see him again.

I had the pleasure of working with Gil for many years.  He was the kind of co-worker everyone dreams of working with.  He was a guiet gentle man with a heart of Gold.  He always spoke foundly of his family. He shared different recipes from Jamacia with me, even bringing me the Jamacian rub which he knew I loved.

I have been struggling to find "the right thing to say", my heart hurts so bad right now, but I am so thankful for being able to have had the opportunity to know such a strong, smart, loving, tender hearted person. I've known/worked with Gil over the last few years at IBM. Gil was always a pleasure and fun to be around and work with. He will truly be missed. My condolences to his friends and family.

Our thoughts and prayers are in our hearts for Gil and his family. Gil helped me get started into long distance running, he was my first group leader into the Galloway Marathon running group. His encouragement and his humor was the brightest point to keep running, he will surely be missed.

My prayers and condolences to the Currie Family. I worked with Gil's wife Carol. The smile on Gil's face in his picture tells me a story of how he enjoyed life.  The information shared about Gil helps me to understand his zest for living. I know it is hard to bear at this time but try to find comfort knowing Gil is no longer in pain. I am a member of the Galloway Running Group and got to know Gil in my pace group.  We shared a lot of laughs, and believe me, when you are working on a 20-mile run in 90+ degree heat in August, a good joke or a little giggle goes a long way. Gil was always good for a big hug, too, albeit a sweaty one. I will miss him a lot, but am grateful for memories of fun times.

So sorry to hear about Gil's passing.  As a runner with the Galloway group, I would see Gil's smiling face on Saturday runs.  When I first joined the running group, and didn't know many people, Gil's friendliness made me feel instantly a part of the larger group. What a great guy - he will be sorely missed!

I worked with Gil for a number of years at IBM East Fishkill.  I always had tremendous respect for Gil.  No matter how badly the project was going Gil always kept a positive attitude.  He was a pleasure to work with and an inspiration.  My condolences to his friends and family.

To the Currie family I offer my condolences on behalf of the King family. We loved Gil so much and will miss him indeed. Gil welcomed me into "Home Room" at Newtown High School when I arrived in the U.S. in 1964. His was the first American friendship I enjoyed. In High School, he joined the soccer team and I ran track. After High School, we found ourselves together again at IBM in East Fishkill, NY where we renewed our friendship which has remained unbroken. Our families enjoyed many good times at each other's homes. Gil, as always, lead most of the outdoor activities.

 We will miss Gil and we will continue to pray for his family that they may find peace and comfort in the warm thoughts and memories of all of us who loved him.

I worked with Gil several times over the years at IBM. He was always a true gentleman, calm and professional in the midst of chaos. My sincere condolences to his family.

I only met Gil twice, I found he is one of the nicest father, uncle, who I ever met. Although I'm in the other part of the world, but my mind sometimes remind of him. I will never forget you, Gil.

My Condolences to the Currie Family. I will always remember Gil as a kind, intelligent person who had a very caring heart and who was very passionate about his family, work and running.  The most outstanding aspect of Gil's personality to me was his sense of humor. I will miss him dearly and pray that God will comfort his family.
