Iris Jean Griffith

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Watson and Eva Willis Vernon; five siblings; her husband, Gary Russell Griffith; and a son, Gary Parks Griffith.

She is survived by her daughter, Lin Causey of Garner, NC; son, Vernon Griffith, of Cary, NC; and four grandchildren, Jason Causey, Christopher Causey, Brooks Griffith and Catelyn Griffith.

Iris gained many friends during her many years of working at Cary High School and Broughton High School. Her favorite pastimes included time with her family, travel, church and gardening.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC with a reception to follow. An inurnment will immediately follow the reception at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Iris to Transitions LifeCare (Trinity), 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 or The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513.
