James Linwood Hill, 86, died Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born in Botetourt County, VA, on March 22, 1927 to Wilbur Linwood Hill and Eva Perry Hill. James served in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cary for over 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking and golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bertie M. Hill; son, Michael L. Hill and wife, Wendy, and their children, Brad Hill and Kaytlyn Mras; daughter, Nancy R. Freeman and husband, Jimmy, and their 5 children; and sister, Patricia Palmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Rd., Cary, NC 27511.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at the funeral home.
Private burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park.
