James "Jimmy" Edward Wimberley

Jimmy served in the US Navy. He worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb and Southpointe Construction.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing softball.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Betty Burrell Wimberley of Cary; daughter, Lisa Jane Wimberley of Auburn, AL; son, James Edward Wimberley II of Cary; grandchildren, Sabrina Marie Wimberley of Cary and Hunter James Wimberley of Cary and Kenly; sisters, Marie W. Morgan (Bill) and Barbara W. Paulk (Bud), all of Benson; aunts, Ruth W. Hammond of Norfolk, VA and Doris W. Atwell (Bill) of Sanford; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Waylon J. Wimberley Jr.

A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in his memory to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, CB #7295, UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295.
