To the Pryor family. The following is the memory I shared with the veteran's group --memories of Jim that I'd hope to share with him again, had I only reached him before his passing:
When I joined the group, I had specifically asked for information on Jim Pryor, one of the few topside guys with whom I got fairly close. Dave Stine was good enough to get some really good leads on him for me, but for some reason I was lazy about finishing up the search and reaching out. 

Now I'm seeing he only passed this September. Jim was one of the more memorable courier sidekicks during the seven months  I was driving the run as an M.P. waiting for my security clearance to come in (after which I took shifts in the guardshak on the mountain.)  Jim was a great talker, but I enjoyed his company. During one trip, both of us with our pistols and Jim with his sachel of classified documentsI noticed there was a weird, invisible little rise on a curve near Kimpo where the dirt road ran between ginseng patches. It tended to throw the jeep out of kilter without warning. I made a note to slow down on that curve during the return trip --but Jim and I were yakking so intensely, I forgot -- and hit that damn rise like a small ski jump, sending the jeep careening sideways. Jim braced himself in a most unfortunate way -- leaning forward toward the windshield. When the jeep rammed into the embankment, Jim slammed face-first into the jagged casing at the base of the windshield wiper, leaving a huge gash on his forehead. (I'll bet he still had the scar, and would have remembered that ride.) 

He started bleeding pretty good. I had to get him to the Maryknoll nun in Kanghwa to sew him up. He had sergeant-at-arms duty that night and was standing around the club with his head wrapped up, looking like Yankee Doodle Dandy. Needless to say, I felt a little guilty. But Jim never once complained, or blamed me. There are other memories. I'll stop there. --Greg Wayland

I’m so sorry for the sorrow Jim’s family and friends go through during this time of loss and beyond.    I knew Jim through work.  He was always kind and smiling.  As he is welcomed into The Kingdom of God I’m sure he will become a Guardian Angel for his loved ones.  I wish you all strength and peace.

George and I have been blessed to have the friendship of Jim and Joan for many years.  Such loving friends and beautiful Christians along with their wonderful sons.  We are sad that Jim has passed on but we know that he rests in the heart of Jesus.   We can not imagine his joy in Heaven.  Our condolences and prayers are with Joan and their family.  ☦️🙏❤️

My deepest sympathy for the passing of Jim Pryor.  It was a pleasure to know & work with him. Such a delightful guy…. Always remember “Mr Pryor speaking” with a huge smile!  My thoughts & prayers go out to his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim at National Grid. He was such a good man & spoke of his family all the time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may Jim rest in peace.

9/16/25 - 12:00pm Thinking of you all today. Just know we are there in spirit.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  May this day be filled with prayer, wonderful memories and the love of Our Lord.

We are disheartened by the loss of our cousin Jimmy.  He shared his faith in God with all of us. He had a gift of gab and a great sense of humor.  Growing up he enjoyed reminiscing of all the good times we had together. We enjoyed music and love of singing and playing the ukulele with his siblings. Although we had distance between us, that cousin bond prevailed. We will miss him and will treasure the Blessing of having him in our lives.

My cousin Jimmy Pryor had the biggest heart of anyone I know.  His stories and memories when we were all growing up always had us laughing.  

I remember when we were young we used to walk over to our Pryor cousins house just kids kicking the pebbles and stones along the way making memories.

We have been fortunate in recent years when Joan and Jimmy would travel to South Carolina and back to Long Island to visit us cousins.

Jimmy will always be in our hearts and  we will miss him.  Play the ukulele in heaven for us Jim and keep the family singing and dancing.  We love you!

My brotherJim and myself playing ukuleles. My heart is broken. I could not have asked for a kinder, caring, loving, God fearing, Jesus loving, tender hearted, role model of a brother than this man!! His sense of humor with me I absolutely loved. We both knew what would crack the other one up and I will cherish those memories forever. He dedicated his life to his wife and family but more importantly he accepted 
 Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Because he took a stand and lived for Christ his name is written in Heaven. I and all my siblings have taken that same stand for Christ therefore we know we will see him again. The pain of losing a brother still stings but Thank you Jesus for what you did for us on that cross. We would have no hope at all but can rejoice at this time in Christ's saving work on the cross. I will love my brother Jim forever!!!

God knew we needed you and Mrs. Pryor’s love. He led us to you for a reason. Kind, encouraging, accepting, and loving...all qualities you lived in abundance. Our family is so grateful for the time He blessed us with. You showed grace, wisdom, peace, and love, not only through your words but through your actions and faithfulness. We love and miss you, and we know that what God creates is never gone, only transformed.

Jim and Joan started as our Neighbors, and grew into our Friends.  So very thankful for all of the meals we shared, and the godly fellowship.  We will forever cherish those memories made around the dinner table.  Jim and Joan's kind spirit and loving manner drew us in, and we never wanted to let go.  Thankfully, we know we will see Jim again one day for everlasting times of fellowship together.

What a true example of faith, strength, and love. While we know you feel the deep loss of his presence, may your hearts find peace and joy in knowing that Jim is now safely in the arms of his Savior. His legacy of faith will continue to shine through each of you.

I have so many great memories of our cousin Jimmy,  my godfather, from when I was young he would give me beautiful dolls from Korea and fast forward where him and Joan stayed at our home in South Carolina couple years ago and they prayed 🙏over me and their prayers worked! We have been blessed with Jimmy in our lives and love this photo from two years ago in South Carolina when we were all together at Joy and Laura’s house.

The two of you are one of the  most beautiful couples that we know. We thank God for bringing you into our lives. Our heartfelt condolences to Joan and the family. Rest well, Jim. We will miss you, but your memory will live on forever. We love you!
