Joe graduated from Miami Jackson High School and served in the Navy for 4+ years. He worked for Southern Bell for 36 years, retiring to only continue working at Joe Campbell Cleaning and Maintenance, an endeavor that satisfied the cleanliness bug he always had!
Joe loved to scroll saw. He set up the equipment and worked at tedious patterns creating many intricate pieces that are displayed throughout his home. He also designed and created wood baskets that, too are on display in his house and his families homes.
Joe loved his family. He and Roberta have been married 68 years. He couldn’t let her out of his sight for long before calling to make sure she was alright and coming back soon! He spoiled his daughters and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC
In later years Joe suffered through treatments for different cancers, shoulder replacements and various other health concerns. He endured them all, but lived with pain. At 93. what we thought was Afib produced a cough he couldn’t shake. He fought as hard as he could but succumbed to it surrounded by family as he took his last breath here to enter Heaven to be with his Savior.
Service to celebrate his life will be on August 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. At Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612
