John Lorin Bingham (88), devoted husband and father, passed away on April 12, 2023. John was born in Akron, Ohio and attended Kent State University where he met his wife of 65 years, Barbara Goodall. They went on to have three sons who they raised in Broadview Heights, Ohio. John worked in the pharmaceutical industry throughout his career in sales. He was an active community volunteer with the Broadview Heights Lions Club where he served as President from 1983-1984, was the Lion of the Year in 1982, a Melvin Jones Honoree in 1991, and helped to found the Bloodview Haunted House, the club’s oldest fundraiser. As a part of the Bloodview Haunted House cast, John frightened countless haunted house attendees as “Booger”, a character that ironically became a source of pride for his sons. John loved playing tennis and cards, reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife relocated to Cary, North Carolina in 2017 to be closer to family. He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Arthur (Naoko), John (Wendy), and David (Melissa), six grandchildren (Casey, Hanna, Evan, Molly, Cooper, Tallulah) and one great-grandchild (Rowan).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broadview Heights Lions Club, Attn: John Bingham Memorial Fund, PO Box 470373, Broadview Heights, Ohio 44147.
