John Robert Hyre, 82, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 18, 1928 in Raleigh, NC to the late Charles and Edna (Rogers) Hyre. John served as a hospital administrator at Duke Hospital for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eloise (Tudie) Hyre of Fuquay Varina, NC; four daughters, Marianne Blaine and husband, Ric of Hilton Head, SC, Tolison Boyle and husband Patrick of Centennial, CO, Elizabeth Ballard and husband, Dan of Evans, GA, Ryn Hagstrom and husband, Todd of Cary, NC; seven grandchildren, Katherine Bush, Jordan Blaine, John-Daniel, Cameron and Abby Ballard, Cole and Bryce Hagstrom; two great-grandchildren, Sasha Bush and Aiden Ballard.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at University Presbyterian Church, 209 E. Franklin St. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
