

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Scott; brothers, George and William Scott.
He is survived by his wife, Joan S. Scott; stepdaughter, Stacey Will and husband, Thomas Will; granddaughter, Claire Will; grandson, Samuel Will; and sister, Margaret (Peggy) Murphy of Virginia.
Jack graduated from Fort Lee High School. He was drafted into the military and served eight years in the United States Air Force. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Cary, NC where he served as an usher and Sunday School President.
He was a Master Mason and a Lodge Past Master. He was also involved in Scottish Rite, Raleigh York Rite, and active Shriner and a member of many other Masonic organizations where he served in multiple leadership positions. He worked diligently supporting many charitable efforts.
As a cancer survivor, Jack was a volunteer at Rex Cancer Center for 16 years.
Jack will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and grandchildren, and his love of the Giants, Mets, and NC State Wolfpack, and his ready smile.
The Scott family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC. Please include that it is a gift in memory of John J. Scott.
