Judy was always a fighter from a young age and especially over the last five months. She was born and raised in Dorchester, MA, a tough neighborhood in Boston, to John and Anna (Talbot) Hulme. Part of a large Irish family, there was never a dull or quiet moment in the house. Judy was the 5th of 13 children. She was the smallest of the Hulme gang, but what she lacked in size she more than made up for in spirit.
Judy met her husband, Allan Beikmohamadi, at Utah State University in Logan, Utah where she was studying computer science. They loved the outdoors and traveling to national parks across the country in a light blue Volkswagen Beetle.
When Judy had kids, she made the personal sacrifice to be a stay-at-home mom and they were her proudest achievement. Each of her children went on to receive advanced degrees.
Judy and the family moved to Cary, NC in 1988, which she called home for the last 35 years. There she met numerous lifelong friends. She was active in the community as a volunteer, PTA president and scout leader throughout the years.
Judy was the life of every party and punch bowl. She had the gift of gab, where a quick call would easily turn into an hour long conversation. There was never an empty dance floor when Judy was around. And you could never miss her signature Hulme girl laugh. She loved traveling, reading, and family above all. She particularly embraced her role as Nana to her grandchildren and loved them each dearly.
Judy was the loving wife of Allan Beikmohamadi of Cary. She was the caring mother to Leila Beikmohamadi of Cary, Kamran Beikmohamadi and his wife Rachael of Hollis, NH, James Beikmohamadi and his wife Jana Dunkley of Atlanta, GA, and Mithra Marcus and her husband Matt of Haymarket, VA. She was the proud grandmother to Kian, Lyla, Aiden, Ivy and Lilly. Judy was the dear sister to John Hulme Jr. of Pembroke, MA, Barbara Hulme of Scituate, MA, Frederick Hulme II of Amherst, MA, Lawrence Hulme of Braintree, MA, Charles Hulme of Dorchester, MA, Deborah Sarno of Dorchester, MA, Geraldine Giacoppo of West Roxbury, MA, Christine O’Sullivan of Hanover, MA, David Hulme of Dorchester, MA, Gregory Hulme of Dorchester, MA, and the late Anne Willams and Daniel Hulme. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary on Friday, August 18, from 6-8pm. Judy’s life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Saturday, August 19 at 11am at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home.
