Julia R Hines

The daughter of the late John Moore Reade and Julia MacArthur Reade was predeceased by her brothers John and William Reade, and loving husband of 68 years, John William Hines "Bill".

She is survived by four children: John W. Hines, Jr. (Anne, H.), Thomas R. Hines (Inez, E.), Julia H. Mills

(A. Scott), Robert M. Hines (Sharon, S.); eight grandchildren John, David, Thomas, Andrew, Zachary, Geoffrey, Brian, Matthew; and four great‐grandchildren.

Following Athens High School graduation, Mrs. Hines attended Salem College and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia in 1944. She then moved to Boston, MA working as a hospital dietitian before marriage in January 1945. Subsequent decades traversed seven states managing eight homes for her family while educating four children in addition to participating in ladies community groups and as an active parishioner at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA and then at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church after settling in Cary, NC. There she enjoyed thirty‐four years of gardening and golf with her husband among family and friends.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm on January 13, 2018 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 221 Union St, Cary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Hines' name to Hospice (Transitions LifeCare, transitionslifecare.org/donate) and to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
