Loretta Eleanor Petraroia

It is with great sadness that the family of Loretta E. Petraroia announces her passing after a courageous battle with illness, on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the age of 83 years. She was born August 25, 1934 in Staten Island, NY, and resided in New Jersey before moving to North Carolina. Loretta was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who enjoyed life and people. Loretta will be forever remembered by her children, son Michael (Linda), daughter Jennifer Petigrow (Richard), son Mark (Giselly), and daughter Rosanne. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother to her eleven grandchildren: Brett, Tizianna (Greg), Melissa (Jason), Mark, Katrina (Matt), Jori, GianMickele, Daniel, and Noelle, and great granddaughter Maxwell.

Loretta was predeceased by her parents Mary and Nick Giannattasio, husband of 52 years, Michael, and her brothers Tom and John.

Loretta was a loving person, always spreading cheer to others. She enjoyed volunteer work, social activities and traveling. She will be sorely missed!

A time of visitation will be held from 3-7 pm, Wednesday August 30, 2017 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 200 SE Maynard Rd. Cary, NC. 27511.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Loretta at 11 am, Thursday August 31, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 804 High House Rd., Cary, NC 27513.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
