She was born August 23, 1927 in Apex, NC a daughter of Walter Durant and Anne Ferral Overby. She married Thomas Sherwood Wallace. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Mrs. Wallace worked for NC State University retiring in 1983.
She is survived by her son, Sherwood Wallace of Holly Springs.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens in Raleigh.
