please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Lee was one of a kind and always a notch above with all he did in life.  he will be missed but i carry many great youthful memories of lee, patti, and us kids growing up together.  Great memories and Great times.

I always called Lee "MY Mr. Lee" - he had a smile that would light up a room, and a heart of gold.  He loved his Lord, his wife and family, his church family~ he just loved life itself.  And he loved the OREGON DUCKS!! 
He will be missed by all.

Patti, It was always a highlight of my day to see Lee at the Duke Center for Living.  His hard work, cheery disposition, and friendliness made him an inspiration.  I enoyed talking with him about his family, sports, his experiences as a ref, and my alma mater, NCSU. 
He was always a gentleman, and you didn't have to talk to him long to know that he loved God.  I know that many others have been missing him, as I have already, and will continue to miss his sweet smile.
I hope that you and your family will find comfort in knowing that he touched a lot of lives, and that he is someone who will never be forgotten.

God saw you getting tired & a cure was not to be.  So He put his loving arms around you & whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, & saw you pass away. Patti:  All of Lee's friends at the Duke Center for Living have wondered about Lee since he changed to the Cleveland Clinic and we were rooting for him and a transplant.  I really enjoyed the days and times that Lee would talk about the Wolfpack and the ACC and Duke.  He has already been missed by his friends at the CFL and we hope you cherish all your memories. Patti, our prayers are with you as they were daily as Lee fought  the disease. You know how we felt about him. Leroy was such a nice and thoughtful man.  I know his friendship with my father, Tom Stancil, was a valued one as they had been friends for many, many years.  Leroy was very sweet to my daughter Logan. He sent her several surprise packages of cheer clothing and cheer jewelry.  She remembers him as 'the cheer man' because I told her he used to go to the competitions and sell cheer shirts and accessories like she always wants to buy at the competitions. I know he will be missed and my a family and I are truly sorry for your loss.

You will never know how much you and Lee both mean to me!  You are like family to me, and I am so blessed to have met you all those years ago.  Coaching has opened doors for me and has led me to lifelong friendships I would have never imagined...  You both hold a VERY SPECIAL place in my heart and I will forever cherish our times and memories. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to have you and Lee in my life... I will FOREVER miss my TERRIFIC, LOVING BROTHER and FRIEND !!....Big Heart, contagious smile and continuous drive throughout month's of roller-coaster highs and disappointments. Today he entered Heaven's gates realizing eternal "Victory in Jesus", at last !!
I rejoiced this morning as I gazed upon his lifeless body and thanked God that for the first time in nearly 18 months there was no need for those annoying oxygen tubes stuck up his nostrils or oxygen mask covering his face.

I love you, Brother.
