

Luther Leroy (Lee) Craig, 73, of Cary, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 after a four year bout with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mr. Craig was born on April 18, 1938 to A. L. Craig and Vernie Jones Craig in Lee County, NC. He was an avid athlete (basketball, baseball, fast pitch softball, and referee). Mr. Craig was a lifelong Wolfpack fan, Semper Fi Marine, and a lover of Southern Gospel Music. He helped raise millions of dollars for schools and organizations to meet ever changing educational challenges faced then, today and tomorrow.
Mr. Craig is survived by his wife: Patti Craig, sons: Brett Craig and wife Teresa of Holly Springs; Randy Craig of Los Angeles; daughter: Wendy Craig Jameson and husband, Jim of Keystone Heights, FL and son: Dwayne (Craig) Francis and wife, Cindy of Mandeville, LA; brother: Howard Craig and wife Sandra of Conway, SC; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Rd, Cary.
A funeral service will be 10 am Friday, December 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3:30 pm Friday in Peterstown Cemetery, Giles Co, WV.
