Marjorie Stowe Floyd, 87, passed away on December 6, 2020 at her home of 55 years in Cary, NC surrounded by her family. She was born in Monroe, NC on August 2,1933 to John David Stowe and Murriel Mangum Stowe.
She graduated from Rolesville High School in 1951. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Meredith College in 1955. She worked as an elementary school teacher (grades 1, 3, and 4) in Fairmont, NC; New Bern, NC; and Cary, NC. She enjoyed reading and was an accomplished pianist, often playing at her church. She was a faithful member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary. Her greatest joys were taking care of her family - especially her grandsons! She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edwin O. Floyd; son, David Wayland Floyd; daughter, Nancy Floyd Long and her husband, Greg; two grandsons, Eric and Evan Long, and Eric's fiancée, Emily Blalock.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Because of COVID 19, there will be no public funeral or visitation. Graveside services will be private.
