Mary Catherine Drum Surratt

Mary Catherine "Catchie" Drum Surratt, age 94, passed away on February 15, 2026 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on October 30, 1931 in Catawba County; she was the daughter of the late David Slyvanius "Van" and Bessie Lee Drum (founders of Drum Funeral Home in Conover, North Carolina) and the wife of the late Bob Glance Surratt (November 2012).

She is survived by her son, Steve Surratt and wife Cynthia of Sunset Beach; daughter, Julie Cable and husband Carlton of Apex; daughter, Jeanne Garrity and husband Tom of Apex; and daughter Laura Cox and husband Don of Raleigh; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Services will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare - 250 Hospice Circle - Raleigh, NC 27606.
