With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michelle Rena Munoz, 59, who left us on July 24, 2024 in her Willow Spring home.
She was a remarkable mother and grandmother to her 5 kids (6 if you count her dog, Logan), 4 grandchildren and 3 grand-dogs. She dedicated so much of her time to family- always ready for a call, visit or a Grammy sleepover. Always asking “how can I help?” She loved her homestead and endlessly worked to improve it, finding enjoyment in gardening and DIY home projects. A testament to her giving nature, she loved to bake and cook for others, often with a grandchild as her sous chef. Described most frequently as sweet, she was also endlessly funny. Her quirky sense of humor rarely faltered, even in the most difficult moments. She’d laugh at her own jokes and the silliest puns, passing these traits down to her children as well as her boundless optimism.
Growing up, she was a self-proclaimed daddy’s girl and often recalled fond memories of her Texas childhood, spent fishing with her parents, Jerry and Patricia Kauffman, and her brothers, Randy and David. She excelled at track and field in high school. And enjoyed scuba diving off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, where she briefly lived in her 20’s with her young family.
Survived by her children Ashley Munoz, Jennifer Munoz, Nicholas Munoz, Daniel Garza, Desiree Garza and favorite child/dog, Logan; her grandkids Kara Ramos, Mason Nash, Athena Munoz Holland and Mavis Nash; as well as her grand-dogs Rico, Frida and Donkey. She will be remembered warmly by her family for her loving and supportive nature, her boundless patience (which her children endlessly tested) and her sunny disposition.
To honor her wishes, the only service will be a private celebration of life amongst her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting something beautiful to honor her green thumb or supporting Camp Royall via the Autism Society of NC. Thanks-A-Latte!
Memoral tributes and messages for the family can be left in the "Add a Memory" box below. Brown Wynne of Cary is honored to serve the Munoz family.
