Cary- Mrs. Muriel E. Travis, 103, passed away on July 7, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Apex. She was born in Scranton, PA and lived most of her life in Wood-Ridge, NJ, retiring to Ormond Beach, FL, later moving to Cary in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Travis, one son, John Ralph Travis Jr., and grandsons, Michael and Mark Travis.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Philip (wife, Marilyn) Travis of Cary, Robert (wife, Keith) Travis of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Travis, John Travis, Erika Evans, James "Jim" Travis, Susan Travis Mabe, Robert Travis, and Norman Travis; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Apex United Methodist Church in Apex.
