Patricia June Dougherty

Patricia June Dougherty passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at the age of 80. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut Street in Cary.

Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anne and Willis Collins. She married Harry Dougherty whom she met at a YMCA dance in Brooklyn and shortly thereafter moved to Cranford, NJ to raise their family. Pat was a home health aide for many years and truly loved and cared for her patients. Pat and Harry moved to Cary, NC in 1994, where Pat was an active member of the church and volunteer at Dorcas.

Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry; her daughter, Lynn Wilson and husband, Greg; her son, Scott Dougherty and his wife, Darlene; her three grandsons, Ian, Derek and Justin; her sister, Jean Manderson and husband, Sam; and her niece, Jill Lasher and husband, Bob; and nephew, Robert Manderson.

Pat’s sweet demeanor and caring personality were but the external manifestations of her truly beautiful inner being. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
