

He was born June 27, 1930 in Cordova, SC, the son of the late Hubert F. and Viola Smoak Livingston. He was the brother of the late Meree L. Emde and brother-in-law of Walter C. Emde, formerly of Chapin, SC. Also, one niece, the late Barbara E. Wagner of Winston-Salem, NC.
Mr. Livingston was retired from the US Air Force and Veterans Administration with a total of 37 ½ years of federal service. He was an illustrator, engineering technician and draftsman while working for civil service. Mr. Livingston was also an accomplished fine artist who worked in watercolor, oils, acrylics, and pen and ink. His many paintings of landscapes, seascapes and wildlife were sold and displayed all over the South.
After retiring to Cordova, SC in 1989, Mr. Livingston went to work for Tee Shirt Graphics in Orangeburg, SC. His wildlife designs on t-shirts were sold to vendors at The Market in Charleston, SC. Mr. Livingston’s many hobbies included fishing, archery, chess and reading. In 2001, he moved to Garner, NC to be near his daughter and family.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Lutz of Cary, NC, one granddaughter, Carolyn Lutz, who attends East Carolina University and Jean Livingston of Apex, NC. Also, one nephew, Chris Emde, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, in addition, a number of cousins and other relatives.
There will be a Memorial Gathering for friends and family at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 2-4 pm. Graveside services will be held at a later date in his hometown of Orangeburg, SC.
