Peggy Phillips Henderson

Peggy Phillips Henderson (Mama Peggy), 86, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at her home in Cary. She lived in Cary her entire life, where she married, raised her children, and faithfully served the people of First Baptist and later Bethel Baptist Church in many ways, perhaps most memorably in the nursery, where her arms rocked countless crying babies to sleep.

Surviving are her husband, Willis E. Henderson (Billy); children, Tim, Sharon, Amy, and Dave Henderson; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Peggy had a sweet, gentle spirit and a warm generosity toward everyone she met. Her life was marked by loving and unconditional service to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Above all, she had an abiding love for the Lord and an unshakable faith in His goodness. Her life is a testament to His grace and a consistent example of God’s kindness to us in Christ. She will be deeply missed and her memory treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank all of her special friends who lovingly visited and helped attend to her needs.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Cary. Burial will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.
