Peggy Barber McDonald was at home surrounded by her husband and two daughters when she took God’s hand on Wednesday, January 18 after an extended illness. She was born March 19, 1943 in Haleyville, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Waverly and Nell Barber.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Toney McDonald; two daughters, Dawn Woody and husband Tim; Dana Pilkington and husband George; five grandchildren, Zachary Woody and wife Breanna, Hannah and Caleb Woody, Lily and Laurel Pilkington; sister, Beth Barber Guthrie; brother, Mike Barber; nieces, Carol Lakeman, Jane Drake and Vicki Holland; and one nephew, David Barber.
Peggy was a member of FUMC-Cary and a dedicated member of the Friendship Circle. Peggy was loved by many and loved others well. Being a Mom and Grandmommy was her greatest joy.
A memorial service will be held at FUMC-Cary on Thursday, January 26 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
