She was born on August 21, 1939 in Greensboro, NC to the late J. R. Ozment and Annie McNairy Ozment Smith. Ms. Brown graduated from Greensboro Senior High School in 1957. She enjoyed the memories of her high school years. She attended High Point College and UNC-Chapel Hill.
She resided in North Fort Myers, Florida for many years. During her professional career, she was office manager of Sanibel Island Resort Time Shares. In 2009, she returned to Raleigh, NC with her daughter, Lisa, and grandson, Michael, to be close to her sisters, Ruth and Carolyn.
Becky is remembered for her loving nature, commitment to her family, and witty sense of humor. Even as she struggled in the final years of her life, she was ready with a wave and a quick response to those who spoke to her, and if she needed to make a point, she would point a finger to do it. She loved her white kitty, a Krispy Kreme doughnut, and a hot cup of coffee.
The family expresses gratitude to The Oaks at Mayview and the Hospice Home for their love and care during the last years and weeks of her life.
She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Miller of Raleigh, NC and Carolyn McKinney of Greensboro, NC; her children, Anne Elizabeth (Lisa) Brown of Franklinton, NC; Michael Scott Brown of Michigan; and Mark Stewart Brown of Florida; and grandchildren, David Michael Brown of Raleigh, NC; Sarah Brown of Alabama; William Brown of Michigan; and Owen Brown of Michigan.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
