Becky was born Aug. 25, 1930, the youngest child of the late Leander Clarence and Willie Alice Stedman Williams. She grew up and lived her entire life on High House Road just outside of Cary and was a 1948 graduate of Cary High School.
She served the citizens of North Carolina for 25 years in the Division of Public Health’s Office of Vital Records.
In retirement, Becky found pleasure in visiting Boone, where they had a second home, allowing her to be active in the lives of her son and three grandsons. She was a founding member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cary.
Becky is survived by son, Barry Sauls, of Boone; grandsons, Stedman, August and Sterling Sauls; sister-in-law, Estelle Sauls Mitchell, of Apex; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ernest Watson Sauls, who died July 19, 2024, as well as her eight siblings.
At her request, a private graveside service was held in Cary’s Hillcrest Cemetery where she now rests next to her beloved husband and other family members of the Williams and Stedman families.
The family wishes to thank Medi Home Health and Hospice for their care and services. Also, the family will be eternally grateful for the incredible compassion and love the staff of Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care shows their residents each and every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends instead consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, a favorite charity of both Becky and Watson.
Memorial tributes and messages of sympathy can be left by clicking the "Add a Memory" box below. Brown Wynne of Cary is honored to serve the Sauls family.
