Robert "Bobby" Michael Hughes, age 54, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1971, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was the son of Charles and Loretta Hughes.
At a young age, Bobby began his journey as an Eagle Scout. He was a huge sports fan. Bobby loved playing golf and watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and NC State. He graduated from NC State with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he accepted a job with Piedmont Service Group, where he was a devoted and dedicated employee for 31 years. He was a PE (Professional Engineer) with his company, which meant he was a pretty big deal. Bobby was a great man who will be missed by many.
Throughout Bobby's life, he accomplished many things, but his biggest accomplishment will always be his daughter, Wilkie. She was the light and love of his life; above all, he loved her with all of his being. He loved taking her to amusement parks to ride every roller coaster there was to ride. He enjoyed being with her even if it was riding in the car listening to his favorite big hair bands and playing in the car air band, never missing a beat.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by his beautifully amazing daughter, Wilkie Mae Hughes; his two brothers, Chuck Hughes, Jr. (Amy) and David Hughes (Gio); three nieces and one nephew.
