

Robert Matthew Williams was born on June 16, 1979 to Victoria Lewis and Cecil Williams in Baltimore, MD. He entered eternal rest on December 17th, 2023 at the age of 44. Robert was the youngest of two children leaving his brother Christopher Williams of Baltimore, MD.
He went to Patterson high school in Baltimore, MD and later attended trade school for General Contracting in home remodeling. He began his trade as an apprentice for the City of Baltimore Housing Authority, and later became a lead foreman from 2000 until 2005.
Robert loved to play sports growing up especially baseball. He and his dad bonded over their love of the game. His favorite teams were the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens. He was such a big Ravens fan that one Christmas he made a Ravens purple themed Christmas tree with purple lights, purple ornaments, purple balls, and a purple skirt.
Two most important joys in his life were his late dog Chloe and his committed partner Jay aka John Maldonado of Raleigh NC. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Victoria Lewis, his father Cecil Williams, his brother Christopher Williams who he loved dearly, and a host of step brothers, step sisters, and step nieces/nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara (Braun) Plock, Grandfather, Wilbur T. Plock, Grandmother, Ruth Williams, Aunt, Debbie Williams, Uncle, Ralph Williams, and Uncle Tommy Plock.
Even though Robert worked all over the triangle, he was a beloved member of the Chapel Hill community. He considered his clients as close friends and confidants. Robert's life was one filled with passion, kindness, and a commitment to making a positive impact on those around him. Known for his vibrant personality and unwavering honesty, Robert always approached life with a smile. He delighted in spreading joy and encouraging others to embrace their dreams and aspirations. Whether it be through his work or personal relationships, Robert’s presence touched many hearts. The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area mourns the loss of a cherished soul and will forever remember Robert's infectious spirit and compassionate nature.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral service will follow at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens, 4826 Trenton Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
