Roy Alvin Beck

Roy Alvin Beck, 87, died October 5, 2014. He was born on December 25, 1926 in High Point, NC to Roy Roosevelt Beck and Ocey Ellen Tolson Beck. He served proudly in the US Navy during WWII and was a graduate of Wake Forest University. Al was co-owner of Beck Brothers Veneer Company in Zebulon, NC.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Beck and sister-in-law, Helen Beck.

He is survived by his wife, Harriett “Hattie” Beck; children, Gerald Beck and wife, Carolyn, Melissa Cook and husband, Larry, Lee Ann Price and husband, Bill, Chuck Beck and wife, Susan, Tom Jeffries and wife, Jeri, and Chuck Jeffries and wife, Jane; brother, Dale Beck and wife, Kaye; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00pm Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 221 Union Street, Cary, NC 27511. Entombment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, NC 27612.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
