Sandra Marie Raseta

Sandra Marie (Palguta) Raseta, 80, of Cary, NC passed away December 24, 2022. She was born in Youngstown, OH on April 22, 1942. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Palguta. She married George Raseta on June 27, 1964. He precedes her in passing after 56 years of marriage.

Sandra grew up in Struthers, OH and graduated from Struthers High School. She received her Bachelors in Eduction and her Masters in Reading Education from Youngstown State University.

Sandra was also a resident of Ipswich, United Kingdom, Poland, OH, and Naples, FL. She was a reading teacher for 27 years, mostly in the parochial and public schools of Youngstown, OH. She also taught at Woodbridge Air Force Base in the United Kingdom while her husband served in the US Air Force.

Sandra most loved the time she spent with visits from her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and spending her retirement years in Florida. An avid reader, she enjoyed volunteering at local libraries and sharing her love of books. She was always striving to learn something new.

Survivors include her children Marlene Raseta, Mary Stoelinga (Eric), and Beverly Hunt; her brother John Paul Palguta; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Private services to be held at later date. Donations to charitable literacy organizations (Reading is Fundamental, Children Literacy Initiative) are appreciated.
