Scott David Thompson

Scott passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2016. He was born on March 2, 1987 in San Rafael, California. He attended Sun Valley Elementary School in San Rafael and Davis Drive Elementary and Middle Schools in Cary after moving to North Carolina in 1994. He graduated from Green Hope High School and attended Appalachian State University.

Scott was a gentle soul who played piano and guitar and enjoyed all types of music. He was an accomplished tennis player and played on the Green Hope High School team. Scott was an amazing cook and loved to read and listen to podcasts in his free time. He was a bit of a history buff and had a particular passion for learning about World War II.

Scott loved his family and his wonderful dog Cali. He is survived by his parents David and Kathy Thompson, his sister and brother in-law Ellie and Jeff Markey, his grandparents Gordon and Ann McPherson and Hardy Thompson, along with his several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. We will all miss him terribly but are comforted knowing he is at peace.

A private service will be held at a later date in Marin County, California. Scott had a bone condition called osteogenesis imperfecta.
