Knowing Sumana from our undergrad days in Kolkata, I kept remembering her cheerfulness and the memorable times we had spent. I will never forget Sumana Mami's joyous spirit and her innate vivaciousness and warmth. Throughout the years I've known her, she has consistently shown incredible love and hospitality towards my family. On the few occasions I've had the pleasure of spending time with her, she has always taken a genuine interest in my life and has treated me like an individual young adult instead of a mere child of family friends. She actively engaged me in fun conversations and made me feel included, respected, and important. It felt great that she truly cared to discuss my interests and opinions amongst a room full of adults. Sumana Mami was so amazingly nice to me.

I will never forget her beautiful smile, her laughter and her endless kind compliments. Her strength is the ultimate inspiration.

No cruel disease can take away Sumana's spirit of joy, zeal for life and precious memories from her family and loved ones! She had to leave us so soon, but, she can never fade away as long as long as all the people she loved so dearly are here in this world.

Anupam - I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Although I never met Sumana I remember you often telling stories of your family when we worked together. My sincerest sympathies to you and your family.

I have often seen Sumana very cheerful at the Taekwondo Academy and have never once seen her face with sadness. I could have never guessed what she was going through. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.

It came with great sadness this morning when I realized that Mrs. Basu had passed. Sumana always spoke with a smile and spoke positively about her condition-although she was in great pain and discomfort. It is difficult to imagine what your family must be experiencing right in this difficult time. I will pray for you all. Suman will no longer suffer and is in heaven.
