Teresa Marie Beers

She was born in Ravenna, OH at Robinson Memorial Hospital to William and Dorothy Thomas on January 29, 1962. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1980 and received an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting from Stark Technical College. She went on to work for Raleigh Ophthalmology.

She is survived by Douglas Alan Beers of 28 years (September 21, 1985). She is also survived by her two daughters, Hannah Marie (Aaron) Stewart of CA and grandson to be, Remington Gage Stewart (December 2, 2013), and Devan Beers (Zachary) Jordan of NC; her loving parents, William and Dorothy Thomas of OH; sister, Melisa K. (Joseph) Nahoopii; nephew, Christopher Thomas; niece, Nicole Nahoopii; great nephew, Thomas Nahoopii; George (Jane) Beers; Wayne (Karen) Winland and family; Christine Bailey and family; Brian Beers and family; Lisa Oswald and family; and her dearest friends.

Teresa was a smart, beautiful, loving wife and best friend. She was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Team Teresa-Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, always supporting her daughter’s lives, anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandson, Remington and Devan’s graduation from University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Dr. Mark Yoffe and Allison Casey at the Cancer Centers of North Carolina for their care and compassion for Teresa. They also wish to acknowledge the nurses and staff of Five East Oncology Ward (especially the “young guns”) and the Cardiac Care Unit of Rex Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9AM on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC 27513. The family will receive friends following the service at The Gallery in The Archangel Center.
