Teresa Rose

Teresa Darnell Rose, 63, passed away on August 20, 2023. Teresa was born on September 11, 1959 in Jefferson, North Carolina and moved to the Raleigh area to attend NC State University. After graduation, she remained in the Raleigh area and built her life in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Teresa was a fierce, authentic, and loving person who led her family and her work with quiet strength and sacrifice. She left a legacy through her many years of visionary work at BB&T, where her team pioneered mobile banking and were granted 40 patents under her leadership and guidance. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, caring for her garden, and traveling with her husband.

Teresa will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, John Rose; her daughters, Tyler Rose and husband Walker and Kate Rose and husband Jonah. She also leaves behind her brother, Phil Darnell (married to Bennett); her mother-in-law, Gwen Ashley; her brother-in-law, Gary Long; her sisters-in-law, Mary Munsey and Virginia Blevins; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Lee and Hugh, and her sister, Sharon.

A funeral service to honor Teresa's life will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM. A reception for friends and family will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly requested that memorial contributions be directed to the V Foundation for Cancer Research or the American Cancer Society.

Teresa will be remembered for her tenacity, love, and reserved nature. May her soul rest in peace.
