Thomas "Tom" Richard Manyik, 94, died April 19, 2026. Born November 26, 1931, in Ramah, Colorado, Tom lived a life marked by steady purpose, faithful service, and a quiet ability to lift the people around him. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he carried forward the values of duty and commitment throughout his years.
Tom devoted his professional life to a broad career with the Federal Government, working with multiple agencies throughout the United States and abroad. In every setting, he brought a presence that drew others in—an encouraging spirit that helped people feel seen, valued, and capable of more than they expected of themselves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Gdovin Manyik; brothers, Andrew Manyik, Steve Manyik, and George Manyik; sisters, Mary Eurich, Margaret King, Helen Manyik, and Ann Kersey; and step-daughter, Susan Macon.
Tom is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia Webster Manyik; step-son, Gary Macon and his wife, Lindy; granddaughter, Kenzi Sullivan; great grandson, Siege Sullivan; and nephews, niece, and cousins in Colorado and Kentucky.
Tom had a gift for people. He could see the good in everyone and, in doing so, brought out the best in them. When asked how things were, his answer was simple and unwavering: “everything is perfect.” He also found joy in the familiar rhythms of life, including his devotion as an avid New York Yankees fan.
A graveside service will be held 11am Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
