I still miss my childhood friend and cross country teammate at Southport High School. Every October my teammates celebrate our State Title  in 1970. Last October marked 55 years.  Love Tom and I know he’s next to God in heaven

Tommy - it's been 2 years today since your spirit ascended into the Heavens.  You are so missed but we talk about you often and laugh all the time with all our stories!!  We love you and miss you....please give mom a hug for us.  Still hard to believe we lost her just 14 short months after you.  We love you.

In 2002 or so, Tommy and Betty (and Tom's mom and step dad) were part of a group of us that drove up and down the west coast of Ireland. We were regulars at the Tuesday Irish music sessions at the Golden Ace, along with Tom's dad most nights. He and Betty were dear friends who I'll miss very much and very often. There are too many stories of the both of them flowing in my head now of those days.

Tom was my buddy from Little  League baseball  until he  passed. We were teammates  on Southport’s 1st undefeated State Champion Cross Country Team (1970). We also loved the rock ‘n roll era of the late 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. I know he’s in heaven and I will see him again someday!

The Saxton family appreciates having you both as neighbors who cared. Tom was there to support my dad with his projects. We also had fun sharing happy hour with you. I recall buying some beer for Tom for his help.  We also appreciated Tom’s help with bikes!  We send our heartfelt sympathy to your family for your loss.

We are praying for God's comfort and peace for  you during this difficult time.  

My heart just broke when Tom got his diagnosis.  He and Betty are so special to me, he was a kind and generous soul and was so supportive of us all in the hiking group.  He would always share his turtles photos with me and the silly squirrels antics.   He hikes beside me always.  

I bought 7 bikes from Tom, and I’ve only had 8 bikes. One was a Bianchi that he told me was a watermelon color, and then he proceeded to tease me mercilessly for years about riding a “PINK” bike! 
I owe so much to Tom, as many others do, and I miss him terribly.

Tom will be forever missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Truly one of kind - and an inspiration. Already miss his sense of humor, his great way of telling stories & his friendship.

Here he is on the ill-fated river to river ride - with 4 other goofs who had no idea what they were about to undertake. I'm so happy I got to share part of this epic journey with him.  And treasure our riding, drinking and time spent in the outdoors. 

Our hearts & thoughts remain with you guys!

Tom was fun and funny. I enjoyed commuting to work on bicycles with Tom. Saturday night before the 500 watching, going to the Golden Ace on Tuesday nights, getting a McFury on Wednesday afternoon, travel tips ect. Seeing Tom walk in during a rain storm in all his ready for bad weather gear, while everyone else is soaking wet and hear him say see boys I am not wet! Major Dude!

I met Tom at Indiana Central Little League.  His Dad was one of our coaches.  We grew up together on Indy's Southside.  He, Dan Stamm and myself were teammates on our undefeated State Championship Cross Country Team at Southport High School in 1970.  It's a memory we shared together every October.  I will miss him greatly but know I will see him again in heaven.  God Bless you, Tom.  Have a cold one waiting for me when I arrive.

Like many others, I was blessed to be able to call Tom a friend.  As a kid branching out into a new world, he was there to help guide me.  There were no halfhearted efforts from him, which in doing so only brought out the best in you.  He was truly one of the good ones.  I’m grateful for our time together.  Until we meet again Tommy thanks for everything.

The famous "Death March" ! I worked with Tom back in the day, and one evening over a beer and it wasn't swill. ;) I asked him if he would consider a bike trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. He said "I have that planned in early May. Ya wanna go"? Well, how was I going to turn that down? This trip introduced Tom to a group of Southwestern  Indiana friends. We're all gonna miss Tom.  He was one of the most thoughtful, measured people I know and he will be missed. 

I met Tom @ Southport High School thru cross country. Although he was a class ahead of me, he treated me as a valued team mate and set the bar high on what it took to be a state champion level runner in high school. He was a hard worked who expected the same of all team mates. He was an important part of our success under Coach Hathaway’s leadership as our coach and mentor.

So sorry to hear of the terrible disease he was fighting at the end of his life, but not surprised to see how valiantly he fought it until the bitter end. He was a true friend and inspiration to this underclassman who learned a lot about life from him. A bossom buddy forever!

I did not have the pleasure of a long friendship with Tommy but he was an inspiration to me over the last three years.  
He faced each day with courage, determination, and a smile.  RIP Tommy.

Tommy was a great guy.  So sorry for the family's loss.  He and I had some great political discussions when he visited us in Kentucky.  Always a joy to be around him, sorry we didnt get to share more beer together. 

Tom was good man, and an inspiration at time in my life when I needed that. I spent a lot of time with him through those years either in the bike shop working, or out on the road riding. I hadn't heard of his illness, so this comes as quite a shock. Condolences to all left grieving as I am today.  

Tom was a good rider and fun to be on a training ride with. He was kind and caring. I had lost track of him. But heard that he was sick. Tom will be missed by many.
