

Virginia Lee Goodmon, age 80, of Cary, NC died October 6, 2010. Lee was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC to Hubert Ralph and Pernie Howell Baity on June 6, 1930. Lee attended WC-UNC (now UNCG) and graduated from Rex Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. After working in local hospitals, she later worked with Wake Surgical Consultants until the late 1970’s.
Lee was a member of Colonial Baptist Church of Cary, NC. She participated in Women’s Bible Studies, Adult Bible Fellowship, and Meal Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Goodmon, Jr. in 2001 and granddaughter, Kristi Winters Walker in 2009. Survivors are son, Park Terrell and wife Pamela of Boone, NC and daughter, Anne Winters and husband, Michael of Holly Springs, NC; stepsons James F. Goodmon and wife Barbara, Raymond H. Goodmon, III and wife Susan, all of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren and four step grandchildren, Steve Terrell and wife Shelly, Leanna Terrell, Amy W. Savage and husband, Daniel and Matthew Winters and wife Lindsay, James Fletcher Goodmon, Jr. and wife Anna, Michael Johnston Goodmon and wife Elizabeth, Elizabeth Goodmon Jordan and husband Derek, Louis Fletcher Goodmon.
Lee also was privileged to have four great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; Cade Walker, Mason Walker, Zane Walker sons of Kristi and Chuck Walker, Wyatt Savage, James Fletcher Goodmon III, Michael Johnston Goodmon, Jr., Michael McIntyre Jordan, Claire Elizabeth Jordan, and Laura Evelyn Goodmon.
Lee walked with the Lord Jesus Christ living as an example to her family, friends and community. Her walk with Jesus is now celebrated in Heaven.
A celebration of her life on earth will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010 at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. The family will receive at the church immediately following the service.
