

William E. Eikey Sr., 80, of Holly Springs, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on February 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 29, 1945, he was the son of the late John E. and Eula Mae Eikey of Wheeling, WV.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John N. Eikey; his brothers, John and Rod; and his sisters, Geraldine and Betsy.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, William dedicated his life to the people he loved. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Cheryl L. Eikey; his son William (Stacie); and his daughter Sherri (Kevin). He was affectionately known as “Happy” to his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life: Zachery (Amanda), Jeffery, Dylan, and Kaylee. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
William raised his family in Johnstown, PA, where he spent many years coaching his sons’ youth hockey and baseball teams. After retiring from Fairmont Supply Company, he relocated to Raleigh, NC, where he remained deeply involved in his grandchildren’s activities.
He loved sports and could often be found rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes. He also loved the thrill of NASCAR and never missed a chance to enjoy a race.
William’s legacy is one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and deep devotion to family. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who love him.
