William Earl McCreedy

William Earl McCreedy, 82, of Emerald Isle North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012. He was born November 21, 1921 in Weehawken, N.J. to the late William and Mary McCreedy. Bill was a native of Leonia, New Jersey, councilman, a member of Leonia’s Ambulance Corp., Sports Boosters, Coach of baseball and football children’s leagues at the Rec Center. A graduate of Leonia High School in 1947, where he was an allstate football player. Bill retired from Unilever, in Edgewater, NJ, in March of 1991 after 26 years of service.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Stahlman McCreedy and his sister, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) McCreedy Wiseman.

Bill is survived by his sons, William Steven McCreedy, of Greensboro, NC and Glenn Donald McCreedy, of Sparta, NJ; and his daughters, Donna Lynn Marley, of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Sheila Ann Maiers, of Cary, NC; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The McCreedy children are holding a Celebration of Dad’s life on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Emerald Isle, NC, from 1-4 pm for all family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Fresenius Dialysis Medical Care Center, Morehead City, NC, in Bills’ name.
