

Richard Arlin "RA" Anderson, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2026, in Case Grande, Arizona. He was born on June 29, 1940, in Colorado Springs.
A proud Colorado native, RA spent his early years on his family's ranch on the eastern plains near Rush, Colorado. The family later moved to Rocky Ford, where RA played baseball and graduated from Rocky Ford High School.
Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country and traveling to several foreign countries during his military career.
After his honorable discharge, RA began a lifelong career in law enforcement with the Colorado Springs Police Department. He served the Colorado Springs community for nearly 30 years, retiring as a respected detective with the department's Detective Bureau. His dedication, integrity, and commitment to justice earned him the admiration of colleagues and the community alike. RA loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed helping his cousins during cattle branding. He loved a good joke, cherished his country and found joy in life's simple pleasures.
He is survived by his wife, Shari, of Casa Grande, Arizona; daughters Donna Kennedy (Keith) of Silverthorne, CO; Lori Harris (Scott) of Cape Coral, Florida; Carrie Rowan (Ron) of Colorado Springs, CO; and his son, Dallas Anderson (Leah) of Black Canyon City, AZ. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Anderson and sister-in-law, Verna, of Colorado Springs, CO along with seven grandchildren and two soon-to-be great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Anderson, and his parents, Roy and Esther Anderson, all of Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice of Casa Grande, Arizona, or the American Diabetes Association in his honor.
A service will be held in Colorado at a later date.
