Born September 30, 1950, in Columbus, Georgia, and called home on August 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry dedicated his life to his family and to serving his community through his 47-year career with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. He had a deep passion for teaching, DUI enforcement, and mentoring others, leaving an indelible mark on those he worked with.
He is reunited in heaven with his beloved mother, Betty Jean Robinson, and his father, Solon Bartee Riggins. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Fran Riggins; his children Paul, Tommy, and Jessi; his daughter-in-laws Leanne and Halyssa; and his cherished grandchildren Leah, Gabriel, Hailey, Kaylee, Kaycee, Emmalee, and Melanie.
Jerry was known for his generous spirit—always ready to drop everything to help someone in need. Whether it was cutting grass, working on his tractor, or building something from scratch, he took pride in working with his hands and giving his time. Above all, Jerry loved his family deeply, and that love was felt in everything he did. His life was one of service, kindness, and unwavering devotion, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
