Steven Joseph Klammer, born to Blanche and Henry Klammer in Brooklyn, New York, passed away after a life filled with love, service, and dedication. He was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Czestochowa Elementary School, St. Augustine High School, and earned his BA from Brooklyn College.
Steven met the love of his life, Lorraine Egitto, at her high school prom, and five years later, they were married at St. Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church. The couple soon moved to Florida, where they became active members of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Steven was known for his deep faith and commitment to his church community, serving as an usher, Eucharistic Minister, and an enthusiastic member of the men's club, where he helped at fish fries. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Hope Helps Pantry in Oviedo and delivering food to the elderly through the HENS program. His love for the arts led him to volunteer at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, a place where he found great joy.
While Steven was often quiet and reserved, his sense of humor was widely appreciated by those who knew him. He was known as a kind, reliable, and humble man, admired by his colleagues at the State of Florida, where he worked as an auditor for 38 years. In his free time, Steven could be found reading the newspaper, watching his grandchildren’s sports games, or hunting down the best BOGO deals.
Steven’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his brother James and sister-in-law Evelyn, along with their children Matthew and Caitlin; his daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Rick Dexter, and grandsons Gavin (14) and Austin (12); and his daughter Cynthia Klammer, granddaughter Riley (19) and grandson Max (13).
