Ann was born on January 21, 1944 in Brisbane, Australia to Raymond and Anita Rae Higgins. She is survived by her son Mark, his wife Cathy and their three children; Brittany, Courtney, and Kyle Petras and her beautiful cat Snow. Courtney Petras and Giovanni Acevado are the parents of her great grand- daughter Sophia. Her siblings are Gary Higgins and Barbara Hill. She was an Aunt to her two nieces Kelly Higgins, Shawnee Higgins, and nephews Justin Miller, John Miller and their families.
She grew up in Denver, where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. In high school she met and married her future husband Richard Petras. After graduation they married and soon after had their only son Mark. Ann became a United States citizen at the age of 21.
Ann was a stay-at-a-home mom until Mark was ten, where she started cleaning apartments and office buildings part-time during the school day. As a young family they all enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing. They enjoyed mini vacations to Taos, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of their favorites events to attend was Cheyenne Frontier days held in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Ann started working for Bonneyville Oil Company as an accountant. Then worked at K- mart, McDonalds, a customer service representative for Outrigger Hotels, a Hawaii company. She enjoyed working for them and the company trips to all the islands in Hawaii. She often worked second shift to be able to babysit her first grand daughter Brittany. She later worked as an accountant at a Storage Facility until her retirement. Most of all she enjoyed and loved all the roles that life gave her; a Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Great Grandma, and Great Aunt.
Soon after divorce, she met Ray Sepulveda, he became a very close friend of hers and to the family. Although either remarried because they lived in two different states, they were friends throughout the years and enjoyed their time together. They would travel around the country and to Mexico and long conversations on the phone.
She enjoyed traveling, knitting, needle point and winning Bingo at the nursing home. She was great at finding bargains shopping online on her tablet and drawing on the app called Happy Color. She loved and missed her beautiful cat Snow, while Mark would hold the phone to Snow; Ann would talk to her and Snow would reply with a meow that sounds like “Ma”. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.
