Betty Lou Jones

Betty Lou Jones, 97, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away on September 17, 2023, at her home in Castle Rock. Betty was born on March 20, 1926, in Remer, Minnesota, to Harry and Phebe (Mills) Swenson. She grew up on a family farm near Remer, MN, along with her nine siblings. Betty married Delmer Jones in 1946 in Brainerd, MN. The first fourteen years of their marriage were spent living in many places throughout the USA and Japan when Delmer served in the Air Force. Highlights of those years included living in Japan for a total of five years during the 1950s during two assignments. Betty moved to Colorado in 1961 when Delmer retired from the Air Force.

Betty was an amazing seamstress and talented at creating quilts and other sewing crafts. She also loved to fish and go trailer camping. Her other hobbies included gardening and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Betty is survived by daughters Sandie (Dennis) Burns of Castle Rock and Sherry (Neil) Hillyard of Parker; son Steven (Lisa) Jones of Fort Collins; sister Shirley Osberg of Minnesota; grandchildren David, Greg, Todd, Jason, Keith and Kendal; great grandchildren Hudson, Carly, Brad and Josh; and great great grandson Brayden. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald, Will, Robert, Jim, Harry and David and sisters Doris and Elaine.
