Cathy L. Davis, age 58, of Franktown, Colorado died December 18th, 2020 from complications due to an aneurysm on her heart. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. She was a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Emaline. Cathy is survived by her husband Ron, children Stephanie (Ronnie), Sammy, and CJ; her sisters Susan, Virginia (Richard), and Liz (Rob) and her brothers Steve (Anne) and Scott (Amy). She is survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a host of friends.
Cathy was born on March 25th, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up, Cathy and her family lived in San Antonio, later moved to Calgary, Alberta for several years before landing in Aurora, Colorado in 1976.
During her life, Cathy touched so many lives and respected and cared for everyone. Cathy, along with her mother, Emaline, her father, Doug and the family of teachers they employed, helped shape and raise so many children at Children’s Creative Encounters (CCE). The daycare center was a staple in the community with many on a waiting list to have their children attend. The teachers at CCE were an integral part of raising the community’s children, including many of their own, and including Cathy’s children. Cathy (along with her parents) were pillars of the Ken-Caryl Ranch community. The daycare also provided a place for worship to a local church, Red Rocks Fellowship, run by Pastor Jack McCullough. The church and her Christian beliefs were an important part of her and her family’s spiritual lives.
Cathy also spent much of her life in the accounting/tax world since 1984. She continued her career as an accountant reaching to the levels of Senior Accountant with Predovich and Company since January of 2006. Cathy loved her job and all the professional and personal relationships she developed. She always made a lasting impression and impact on everyone she worked with. Cathy continued her hard work and selfless dedication till the day before her heart surgery as demonstrated from the picture Ron took of Cathy working on her computer in her hospital gown.
It was important for Cathy and Ron to include family and friends in their many travels inside and outside of the United States. She loved exploring and photographing the beautiful State of Colorado. She got her love of photography from her dad and loved photographing the fall colors of Colorado every year. Cathy and Ron also loved exploring the roads on Ron’s Harley Davidson motorcycle. They were also able to fulfill their dream of building a home on their land. She loved everything about “the farm life” including driving the tractor.
Cathy will be interred at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in a private ceremony at a future date.
The family has decided to have a formal celebration of life at Cathy and Ron’s property later this spring. They will update you with the date and time of the memorial so all who loved her can celebrate Cathy’s amazing life.
Cathy’s family never imagined being without her and losing her far too young. Cathy did everything for her husband and her family and now they are trying to put the pieces back together. If you wish to make a donation the family has set up at GoFundMe at the following link: Cathy and Ron
Cathy was also a long-time proponent for first responders and would be honored to have a donation made in her name to your favorite first responder charity. A donation could also be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/ in memory of Cathy’s mother, Emaline.
We hope that you will leave thoughts, stories, and photos for the family, and you may do so below within “add a memory”.
